I first heard of Christian Science through the healing of one who had suffered for about two years and tried many doctors without result. It was only after a doctor had advised him to try Christian Science that he went to see a practitioner, and was healed after two weeks' treatment—although he had no knowledge of Christian Science.

I had suffered for some time from polypi—tumors in the nose—and after undergoing most painful and distressing operations and being told by the surgeon that the condition would always recur, I decided to carry on somehow rather than go through more suffering under futile operations. Then my daughter suggested, as the above case was cured, Why not try Christian Science? As a result we attended a testimony meeting, where I found the truth I had always sought. After the meeting, where we were lovingly received, we borrowed the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and read it studiously for a week, when we purchased copies. I then saw a practitioner, and after two weeks' treatment the whole condition disappeared. I realized complete freedom. It was a wonderful and blessed experience and demonstration of Truth.

During my study of the textbook other discords disappeared. Constipation, from which I had always suffered, left me and has never troubled me since. These healings have been permanent, having taken place eighteen years ago. Since then I have become a member of The Mother Church and a branch church and have had the privilege of class instruction. I am grateful for activity in church work.
