I am writing this testimony in gratitude to God for sending Christian Science to us in our time of very great need. Our little girl, who was then two years old, was taken very ill with kidney disease. The same afternoon she was ordered to the hospital, and almost given up by the doctor who was attending her. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner. We did not know very much about this Science, but had heard about it and had read some of the literature, so we decided all in a moment that a practitioner could help her. He worked for her through absent treatment. After about five minutes had elapsed she sat up in my mother's arms. Before this she did not know us; she was so far gone that she could not take one drop of water between her lips, due to very high fever. It was about six weeks before she was entirely healed, but she started to improve during those first five minutes. She had taken no food for a week. The practitioner told us to give her anything she would eat. She started to take food that night, and walked and played the next day. About two months later I was threatened with a second goiter operation, having had one before I learned of Christian Science; through absent treatment I was healed. That was three years ago, and since that time we have had a great many demonstrations of God's loving care, and so many blessings that I cannot record all of them here.

Words can never express the gratitude I feel for the loving, patient help of the practitioner, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I am truly grateful for Christian Science.
