When I first came into Christian Science, some years ago, I had an instantaneous healing after I had been sick and miserable for over four years. Three specialists had said that I took my life in my hands every day I stayed away from the hospital. I already had had two operations, but they had not done me any good. So when I was told this last time that I must undergo yet a third, I was hopelessly discouraged.

Telephoning to a friend who was a Christian Scientist, I asked her if she thought I could be healed in Science. She said she was sure that I could, and she called a practitioner for me, to tell her that I was coming to see her. I visited this practitioner, but was so desperately discouraged that I just sat down and read what she gave me to read, while she treated me. However, when I left her office I felt like a new person, not knowing then that I was healed. But I was, and it was wonderful; and the healing has been permanent.
