On page 4 of your issue of March 4, a news item is published entitled. "Killed by Snake Bite 'Cure'—Christian Scientist's Fatal Experiment." In order that your readers may not be misinformed regarding the teachings of Christian Science, I should be glad if you would kindly grant space in your paper for this letter.
According to the unfortunate young man's statement, he had faith that the snake venom would help to cure him. This has no support whatever in Christian Science. Healing in Christian Science is effected by the spiritual understanding of God's omnipotence, operating in human consciousness and destroying all the doubts and fears contained therein. Drugs and the like are entirely eliminated, their use indicating lack of confidence in and understanding of God's power to heal through His spiritual law.
