"The law of good"

In answer to the question, "How would you define Christian Science?" our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in her book "Rudimental Divine Science" (p. 1), "As the law of God, the law of good, interpreting and demonstrating the divine Principle and rule of universal harmony."

How many of us, prior to taking up the study of Christian Science, knew that there is a "law of good"? How often we thought that good appeared in experience because some material remedy had been efficacious! But alas, the next day, perhaps, that same material remedy failed to give us help, and our hope faded away into discouragement. When "the law of good" is at work in our thought, we lose our faith in the material, and accept the good—the truth which alone satisfies.

Never before the present time has the power of infinite divine Love been known and acknowledged by so vast a number of people and in so many parts of the world. The healing of all manner of disease and the overcoming of discord and sorrow are proving the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 112), "From the infinite One in Christian Science comes one Principle and its infinite idea, and with this infinitude come spiritual rules, laws, and their demonstration, which, like the great Giver, are 'the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever."
