The healing Christ, as revealed by Christian Science, saved my life, and lifted me out of deep waters after many months of mental agony. I earnestly desire that my testimony may be an encouragement to those struggling long, and perhaps seemingly in vain, against fearful odds. I pray too that it may illustrate the danger of apathy and sloth, and save someone from getting into the depths from which Christian Science delivered me.

After being active in the practice of Christian Science for several years, during which time I had held a number of offices in a branch church, I was claimed for service in the World War of 1914-1918. During this service, which took me to France, I experienced several outstanding cases of physical healing and was protected throughout in a most wonderful manner.

In spite of all this, after demobilization, when life seemed to offer many material prizes, I became lukewarm, took little part in church work, and felt somewhat critical towards various phases of the Christian Science organization.
