I have always felt that Christian Science was sent to me...

I have always felt that Christian Science was sent to me as a direct to prayer. I was away from home, alone in a strange city, practically without funds, and to mortal sense I was very ill. At that time I was a member of an orthodox church and I prayed for guidance. Though the way did not at that time seem very clear to me, I recovered enough in a few days to return to my home for a rest.

During my absence, my room was occupied by a lady who had come to the city for the purpose of having class instruction in Christian Science. When I returned, I found a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel which she had left in the room. I read word of it with much interest, though the testimonies of healing seemed too good to be true. Shortly after this, a neighbor invited me to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting in the local Christian Science church, and she also lent me a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I accepted this book and started to read it as one would read any other book, but before I had finished it I was healed of a condition for which I had taken material remedies for a long time. I the textbook, and by reading it was healed of headaches, indigestion, and attacks of tonsillitis.

In 1919 I was healed of a very of attack of influenza and through the help of a practitioner. At this time my husband was not at home, and without my permission my physician to see me. The physician stated that I would not live unless something were done for me from a medical point of view, but I knew that God was caring for me. I was healed in a very short time, and took up my household duties without going the predicated long period of convalescence.
