For the many blessings which have come to me and to...
For the many blessings which have come to me and to members of my family during the past fifteen years through the understanding of Christian Science I am deeply grateful.
A friend of mine, who knew of my unhappy mental and physical condition, told me about Mrs. Eddy's teachings and urged me to get a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and study it with the aid of the LessonSermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. I did so, and in a short time I was healed of a stomach disorder, constipation in a serious form, and a growth in the breast. At the time we were living in a small town in an environment which was extremely distasteful. Three months after I began to study Christian Science the way opened for us to move away. Among other blessings too numerous to mention, was a quick recovery from influenza during the epidemic of 1918; healings of quinsy, a growth under the eye, a distressing body rash, and a nervous breakdown. One summer I was healed of a severe injury received in a motor accident. The complete restoration of lacerated flesh proved a valuable lesson to me and to my family of the power of Truth to make whole.
Another proof of the protecting and preserving power of divine Love stands out especially. One morning, in 1924, I saw our son, then six years old, struck down by an automobile. By the time I reached him, the driver had stopped the car and picked up the child, whose legs, he said, had been run over by the front wheels of the car. Declaring aloud the truth of being, I returned to the house with the screaming child and called a practitioner. In twenty minutes the boy was outside playing and later went to school as usual.
