It is with deep gratitude for the truth about God and...
It is with deep gratitude for the truth about God and man taught in the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, that I give this testimony. I have been healed of many discords, including the smoking habit, quinsy, and chronic bowel trouble. Some of these healings have been rapid, others have been slow.
In February of 1935, while in a southern climate, not realizing the intensity of the sun, I received a very severe sunburn. Upon arising in the morning, after a restless night, I saw that my face was swollen and my eyes were almost closed. Realizing there was need for immediate work to know the truth about this condition, I picked up the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, opened it at page 339, and read the following statement: "Since God is All, there is no room for His unlikeness." The truth of this statement was so clear to me that I was healed immediately; not that the visible condition had disappeared, but all fear had left me and I knew I was healed. There was no more discomfort, and the swelling very quickly disappeared.
Another healing was of a growth that appeared on my cheek several years ago. It was very conspicuous, and in my position it was necessary to come in contact with many people each day. There was much fear expressed by different ones that it might be a cancerous growth. I have always been most grateful that I had no fear that the condition could not be met in Christian Science. The healing was very slow, but through the loving work of a consecrated practitioner the healing was complete.
