I have already testified with gratitude to my first healing in Christian Science of mental depression and physical exhaustion, following a long period of anxiety during the late war. A wonderful change gradually manifested itself as Christian Science as a means of healing was more earnestly accepted; but since a deeper understanding of this religion as a means of regenerating thought and action has been gained, the healing has been continuous and is still continuing. As our beloved Leader writes on page 3 of Science and Health, "To understand God is the work of eternity."

Faults of character must be self-seen and destroyed, and then the physical and erroneous manifestation disappears—instantaneously. Only by temporizing with error and clinging tenaciously to "the sin which doth so easily beset us" is scientific healing delayed. I am especially grateful for the courage given me in a time of great difficulty by the silent prompting of the words in Joshua, "Only be thou strong and very courageous," and Mrs. Eddy's words on page 559 of Science and Health, "The inaudible voice of Truth is, to the human mind, 'as when a lion roareth.'" The error melted away, and harmony and unity were restored.

I have witnessed and experienced many wonderful healings, and in times of accident have been surrounded by an ever-present sense of divine protection.
