Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give."
Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give." Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 79 of Science and Health, "Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us." Having had so many blessings and healings through the study and application of this blessed truth, I should like to share my testimony with others.
Christian Science has healed me of many physical ailments, as well as faults of character; has been the only physician in our home for the past seventeen years, and has given me a new outlook on life. I have had healings of an attack of appendicitis, inflammatory rheumatism, throat trouble, sprained ankle, fallen arches, and many minor ailments—some through the help of a practitioner, some through my own work, and some just through the reading of our textbook. I have also been healed of the fear of dental work by knowing that as one of God's ideas could not hurt another of God's ideas, I had nothing to fear. By holding to this thought, and also to the thought that "perfect love casteth out fear," I was able to go through an experience of having a tooth ground out and refilled with entire harmony. The dentist could not seem to understand why it did not hurt, as he said he was exposing the nerve. Every time he would say, "Doesn't that hurt?" I would know the truth about it, and I can truthfully say that it did not hurt at all. Since this kind of work had always been such an unpleasant experience for me, as well as a painful one, I am certainly grateful that I have been healed of the dread and fear of dental work.
I am very grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church; for having a part in the church activities, including teaching in the Sunday school; for the privilege of class instruction; for our daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, and for the other periodicals; and I am profoundly grateful to our beloved Leader, Mart Baker Eddy, for giving us this beautiful truth.—(Mrs.) Rozella Dickerson, Omaha, Nebraska.
