I wish to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science
I wish to express my gratitude to God for Christian Science. Seven years ago, while I was in a public library, sick and discouraged, and searching for some book that would tell me about a true religion, I found The Christian Science Journal. I never had heard of Christian Science, but as soon as I had read one article I knew that I had found the true religion. Then I went to the Reading Room and bought "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and I went to church for the first time in twenty years. I did not know that I could be healed merely by reading the book, but when I had read half of it I realized that I was healed, and that I could also see clearly. I had previously suffered from a very distressing eye trouble, which was completely healed as I grasped the truth of Being.
A few of the healings I have had in Christian Science are of ulcers of the stomach in the worst form, coughs and colds that I had every winter, constipation, toothache, corns, dizziness that sometimes caused me to fall, worry, fear of insanity, smoking, drinking, profanity, and such fears at night that I could not sleep alone in a room; resentment is vanishing, and many wrong desires have been discarded. Christian Science has been a great help in business also. Without it I should not have had a business of my own.
Words cannot express my gratitude to God, divine Love, who guides and cares for each one of His ideas. I am grateful to Christ Jesus and to Mary Baker Eddy for their consecrated labor and love for mankind; to the practitioners for their faithful help; also for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction.
