I want to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science

I want to express my sincere gratitude for Christian Science. For the past sixteen years I have realized that this Science is the Comforter, and it has never failed when properly applied. I did not take up the study for physical healing, but because I was very unhappy and dissatisfied. I was invited to a lecture against Christian Science, and when the lecture was over I was more dissatisfied than ever. I can look back and see that then and there I was beginning to think for myself, and wanted something I did not have. This went on for several months; then a neighbor who lived next door, an earnest student of Christian Science, gave me a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel to read. From that day my whole life was changed. I seemed to be like a plant thirsty for water, and I shall always remember the joy and happiness that came to me at that time. I thought everything and everybody had changed. I did not know that my thought was all that needed to change.

Just through the reading of our beloved textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of the need of wearing glasses, which I had worn for fifteen years. Also headaches, burns, nervousness, and many other ailments were healed. One of the things for which I am most grateful is that "the Bible and the Christian Science textbook are our only preachers" (Explanatory Note: Christian Science Quarterly). I am grateful for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school and taking part in other activities of the church; for our periodicals; for the revised Hymnal; and most grateful for class instruction, which has been a wonderful experience and privilege. Words fail me to express my gratitude for our dear Leader, who took her stand so firmly for Truth.
