For months prior to the time when I first became interested in Christian Science I had been a patient of a leading heart and lung specialist in one of our large middle western cities; in fact, he was said to be the finest diagnostician of the northwest, and his diagnosis of my case was anything but hopeful.

I was a conscientious patient, spending my summers in the pines, taking deep breathing exercises morning and evening, lying for weeks in a hospital indulging in a so-called rest cure, but was none bettered. I have no reason to believe that the physician was any less conscientious in his effort to benefit me, but it was all to no avail. And this is where Christian Science found me.

Christian Science treatments were given me for about three weeks. I was not entirely healed during this time, but my mental viewpoint was changed and I knew that ultimately I should be well. There were many struggles after that, but through a daily systematic and thorough study of the Bible and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the healing came, thus proving that the only man there is, is the man of God's creating, made in His image and likeness; that the only time is the present; and that there is no place where God's love does not penetrate.
