Christian Science came to our family through the healing...
Christian Science came to our family through the healing of my mother of neurasthenia before I reached the "teens." Ever since then it has been the only physician in our home. The first healing I experienced was one of measles in one day.
I should like to express gratitude for the help Christian Science has been in my university studies, and perhaps to help some other student to learn that Christian Science is just as applicable to problems of study as to problems of sickness. Much to my concern, I found it essential to take a subject which I had dropped for six years. At secondary school it had been my most difficult one, and I had not cared for it. Christian Science treatment was asked for, and the marks received on the examination were amongst the highest in the whole course. That same year in the terms examination error presented itself in the guise of a blank mind. Such an experience had never been mine before, as I am possessed of what is known as a good memory. To the best of my ability I realized the truth about God, and man in His image and likeness, and before the time was up I was able to answer the question which had before been unanswerable through lack of certain equations.
The following year Christian Science treatment was again obtained—this time to grasp an economic subject which seemed abstruse and disjointed. As a result, the difficulties faded away, and at terms examination first class pass was received.
Physical healings which I have experienced include entire freedom from headaches and nosebleed, the growth of hair upon a bald patch on my head, contrary to the hairdresser's opinion that hair could not possibly grow there unless certain medical treatment was given, and a healing of mumps in a few days, during which time I was able to eat and drink normally, without pain or inconvenience.
In conclusion I must express gratitude for the Christian Science organization in its many and varied activities and for the work of the practitioners. It is my desire to "grow in grace."—(Miss) Mollie Johnson, Auckland, New Zealand.
