The Psalmist sang, "While I live will I praise the Lord:...

The Psalmist sang, "While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being," and thus my heart sings daily in gratitude to God for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science.

In 1921 I was completely and permanently healed of tuberculosis of the lungs. This condition had been growing upon me for five years, and during the last two years my health had steadily failed me. My fear was very great, and I had but little strength left. I was directed to a Christian Science practitioner, who in his loving way told me of God's love and protection for His creation. I returned to my home, which was forty-five miles from the practitioner, happy to rely entirely upon God for my healing.

I turned earnestly and whole-heartedly to the Bible and to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to learn more of this beautiful healing truth. Fear and discouragement in their worst forms have been overcome by clinging to these words in the twenty-seventh Psalm: "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" When it seemed almost impossible for me to attend to my household duties, these words found on page 385 of Science and Health strengthened me: "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself."
