It is over twelve years since I first heard the name "Christian Science." At that time I was living in England and my parents had just returned from the United States and Canada, where they had learned of this wonderful true religion. We looked up the church in our city, and my first attendance was at a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, where some marvelous testimonies were given. I has always attended an orthodox church and Sunday school, and had experienced the best of health, but I then started going to the Christian Science Sunday School and church. Since that time I have known of a great number of healings through the study and application of this Science, and have been healed myself of many physical aliments, such as boils, colds, a broken kneecap, a severely crushed hand, and lack of many kinds.

I should like to tell of my healing of the broken kneecap. I was playing football, and when I went down players carried me off the field. Before going into the dressing room I had asked someone to call a Christian Science practitioner and tell him the trouble. During this time I was declaring the truth as we are taught to do. The pain was intense, and for a week I did not get much sleep or seem to improve, but I know now that during that first week my thinking was changing. It changed so much that on the next Sunday I went to church, and in five weeks went back to work, which meant being on my feet nine hours a day. There was still a great deal of fear to be destroyed, as many people told me that my leg would never get better. With the help of the practitioner and friends my thought was kept clear of all the evil suggestions, and today the fears regarding the leg are gone. Our Leader tells us on page 385 of Science and Health: "Whatever it is your duty to do, you can do without harm to yourself. If you sprain the muscles or wound the flesh, your remedy is at hand. Mind decides whether or not the flesh shall be discolored, painful, swollen, and inflamed." I have had many proofs of the truth of this statement.

I am very grateful and give thanks to God, the Giver of all good; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science; and to the practitioners who have helped me. I am also very grateful for membership in The Mother Church and for the privilege of serving in a branch church.
