Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Lanarkshire, Scotland.

The Scottish Co-operator of September 3 published the following appreciation of The Christian Science Monitor. Referring to the question whether papers should print sordid news "because the public wish it," the article goes on: "There is a newspaper published in Boston, U. S. A., The Christian Science Monitor, which has established itself as the only real international daily newspaper. ... There is nothing of international consequence which it omits. Nothing which could sully the mind of the most innocent child finds a place in its columns—the whole newspaper, its news columns, its feature pages, its leader pages, its special articles, its illustrations, are conducted in a spirit of helpfulness and understanding. ... Incidentally, I am not a Christian Scientist, but I cannot omit this tribute to a newspaper which has done more than any other—not even the Manchester Guardian excepted—to promote international good will."
