Having benefited so often by the testimonies in the Christian Science Sentinel, I want to express my gratitude for the many healings I have had and to tell about some of them. I was completely healed of nervous prostration when my suffering was so terrible that more than once I tried to commit suicide; but I was always wonderfully protected by Christian Science treatment. Since then I have been healed of bowel trouble which carried in its trian chronic and inherited biliousness. It was not until I realized that I had work to do, as well as the faithful practitioner, in honestly trying to cast out of my consciousness such evil thoughts as criticism, pride, resentment, and jealousy, that I gained my freedom. I worked faithfully to apply these words of Mrs. Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 248): "Let unselfishness, goodness, mercy, justice, health, holiness, love—the kingdom of heaven—reign within us, and sin, disease, and death will diminish until they finally disappear." This I have proved true, for the trouble yielded by degrees until it completely disappeared and I was free.
Another healing was of hatred which I had felt for years, and which was so intense and bitter and had lasted so long that I thought there was no cure for it, even in Christian Science. But I am happy to say to-day that it has been as completely healed as thought it had never been felt.
To the consecrated practitioners who brought these healings about I can never express enough love and gratitude; and for all that Mrs. Eddy has done for the world in bringing Christian Science to mankind I am everlastingly grateful.
