Christian Science has been our only physician for three years and a half. I am indeed happy and grateful to give my testimony to all mankind.

I was afflicted with quick consumption and felt as though I should pass on. A brother-in-law brought me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read a little, but did not understand it clearly. After reading a few chapters I felt that I wanted to see a Christian Science practitioner. I went to see one, and after I left her room I knew I was God's child and that God was my Life. On the third day the fever left me. I continued going to see the practitioner three or four times a week, traveling twenty miles each way through snow, ice, and sleet to seek the truth. In four weeks I was healed, and two months later I was digging the celler for my own home, which I built with some help. Six months after my healing I underwent a physical examination for a position and passed it. I then started to work at my trade, which to material sense was supposed to be harmful to the lungs.

I have also been healed of the effects of poison ivy, a carbuncle, and the false appetite for drink and tobacco, to which I had been a slave for many years.
