Chronicle

My attention has been drawn to the report of an address in your issue of the 28th ult., in which it is stated that men wanted to be told exactly what to believe and that was why Christian Scientists were getting more response to-day than were the free churches.

In order that your readers may be correctly informed on this point, I shall be grateful if you will kindly permit me to reply briefly to this statement.

The Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," are the daily study of all loyal and active Christian Scientists; and Mary Baker Eddy states on page 83 of this textbook, "Nothing is more antagonistic to Christian Science than a blind belief without understanding, for such a belief hides Truth and builds on error."
