While my thoughts have many times gone out in praise...
While my thoughts have many times gone out in praise and thanksgiving to God for the wonderful gift to this age of Christian Science, I want to tell through the periodicals something of what I have received through putting into practice the truths given to us again by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. It is because of a constantly deepening realization of what she has given to the world that I want first to express gratitude for her consecrated life and her steadfastness of purpose, which have made it possible for us to learn how to extricate ourselves from the false teachings of the age and to have the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus." As I have learned through Christian Science consciously to express that Mind, I have found that this Science heals. I have had many physical healings, including the healing of heart trouble, torn ligaments, severe burns, and neuritis; and many other problems have been solved.
I am grateful beyond words not only for this gift of the knowledge of the unchangeable divine Principle which heals those phases of inharmony which seem to touch my own life, but also for the understanding that divine Science exists as the explanation of all true being, and for the understanding that God is Mind, and that man knows no other Mind than God. I also want to express my gratitude for the different activities of The Mother Church and for the provision our Leader has made for its government, for branch church membership, and for class instruction. She says (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 160), "To live so as to keep human consciousness in constant relation with the divine, the spiritual, and the eternal, is to individualize infinite power; and this is Christian Science." May we, each one, express our gratitude by obeying this admonition; and by obeying it preserve the teachings of Christian Science intact.
