From the Field

A Letter of Appreciation from China

"I should like to express my sense of overwhelming gratefulness for the comfort and help I get from the Christian Science publications, sent to me here in China.

"When at home I was so dependent upon the church services for help in my daily problems and in holding that new-found peace I have had since Christian Science became part of my life! To find no such solace here, but a loneliness far greater than any I had ever experienced before, my despair was great indeed.

"My daily study of the Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly only partly comforted me. But then the publications began to come with surprising regularity, considering that mail in China is very uncertain. There is something so alive and active in the fresh articles written for the publications, that I devour them in hungry haste, then read them over more slowly each day until the next one comes.

"I am very grateful to those writers who are so inspiring, and to the efficiency of the department which manages the publications."
