Forgiving

Do the Pharisees malign thee?
Do they envy thy good name?
Do they ridicule and scorn thee,
Pour forth wrath and heap up blame?

Go thou up into the mountain,
Wait thy heart upon the Lord,
Where Christ is they cannot follow.
God is Love—hear'st thou the Word?

God's own child they cannot slander,
They but give thee chance to prove,
Human hatred cannot reach thee,
Clad in panoply of Love.
