Christian Science came to my notice on a so-called death-bed:...

Christian Science came to my notice on a so-called deathbed: I had been given up to die by our family physician, who had diagnosed the case as tuberculosis in its last stage. He told my wife I could not possibly live more than two weeks at the most. She came to my bedside and asked if I would accept Christian Science treatment. I consented, and a practitioner was called. She came, and sitting by my bed began to talk to me. During the conversation I fell into a deep sleep, something I had not done in weeks. The treatments continued, and in a very short time I was up and back at work, completely healed. This was in 1916. I have also been healed of the tobacco habit, to which I was a slave for many years.

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for these healings, and for all the activities of the Christian Science movement. I am also grateful for membership in a branch church, and am endeavoring to live the life of a Christian Scientist.—William F. Stevens, Berkeley, California.
