In humble obedience I wish to testify to the healing, protecting, uplifting power of Love which, as a student of Christian Science, I have found and proved through the study of the Bible and our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

Our first experience in applying the truth about man occurred a few months after we began the study of Christian Science. Our son, then six years old, fell from an automobile, and broke his arm. He was away from home when it happened, but began at once to treat himself as he had been taught to do in our Sunday school. When he arrived home his first words to me were: "Mother, you will not take me to a doctor, will you? God will heal me. I just said, God never had a broken arm and I cannot have one; see, my arm is almost straight now." The child won; he was taken to a Christian Science practitioner and was sleeping in fifteen minutes and back in school in two days. He has gone through measles, mumps, and chicken pox with very little inconvenience. We have all been wonderfully protected from accidents. Before I became interested in Christian Science a physician told me it would be necessary for me to have an operation for internal trouble. The last time he talked with me and I refused to have an operation he replied, "The ambulance will call for you some day." But Love has guided my thought away from this difficulty, and there has been no trouble, and no fear of it since the flood tides of Truth caught me and carried me far from such troublesome thoughts. Several years ago I seemed to be thrown in contact with one who seemed to me a very disagreeable lady. When I wished most to be alone she was at hand to annoy. This lady had a growth on her face, and I often thought how thankful I was that I did not look as she did. Later a similar growth made its appearance on my face. When I learned through the study of our textbook how to overcome resentment and to love my neighbor as myself, this thing dropped from my face and I truly liked this lady.

I have had few of what material thought calls big or terrible things to overcome, but I am truly grateful that I am learning to overcome resentment, criticism, selfishness, and to be ever increasingly grateful to our loving and lovable Leader, for providing teachers, periodicals, and services and for giving each one of us the privilege of being harvesters in the field of Love.—(Mrs.) Charlotte M. Raymond, Yakima, Washington.
