Gratitude for the blessings which have come through the...
Gratitude for the blessings which have come through the study of Christian Science must find its expression in testimony as well as in daily improving conditions, and so I would give my thanks through our periodicals for all that is constantly coming to me as a result of the earnest study of our Leader's writings together with the Bible.
Although I thought myself very much opposed to what I considered Christian Science to be, when problems presented themselves in the care of our small boy I found myself saying at various times that if I were a Christian Scientist I would not have to contend with this or that, until a friend quietly suggested one day that I had better drop either the doctor's hand or that of Christian Science, since I could not have both. It was then that I turned to Christian Science entirely, and our boy was healed in a very short time of a stubborn case of bowel trouble. Later this same child was healed of deafness resulting from constant earache extending over a period of many months, although a physician in the family had said that it could not be corrected without an operation. Dry eczema, which caused the palms of my hands to be cracked and bleeding most of the time, and which was said to be inherited, was overcome through daily study, and without specific work being done for it.
Many healings have occurred in our family, and many faults of disposition are being corrected. I am especially thankful for the knowledge that the Father-Mother God tenderly cares for and guides the unfolding thoughts of His perfect children, and that the belief of insubordination and license so prevalent in the world to-day in the experience of the younger generation is giving place to a greater freedom and liberty under God's law and government.
