In reply to a gentleman and "Antipas," writing in your issue of September 27, let me say that Christian Science does teach that God is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever. Human opinion and fashion alter, but these have nothing to do with immutable Truth. The Bible contains great spiritual truths which have to be discerned spiritually. The study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in conjunction with the Bible, reveals these truths, which are then demonstrable in the healing of the sick and the reforming of the sinner.

"Antipas" does not seem to be able to distinguish between the physical human Jesus and his spiritual selfhood or Christ. The human Jesus was born of Mary. His spiritual selfhood, or Christ, the Son of God, born of Spirit, had no beginning and existed before Abraham was, before the world was, as he declares in John. Surely "Antipas" must know that that which is eternal, immortal, and immutable can have no beginning or birth, no ending or death. Christ is the spiritual expression of God, and must of necessity coexist with God eternally. At the ascension the flesh was put off, but Christ Jesus' spiritual selfhood remained, although not seen by the physical senses.

Christian Science teaches that we all must awake out of this material, fleshly dream and know ourselves, as in reality we are, the spiritual ideas of God. Thus the kingdom of God will be established on earth as in heaven.
