Christian Science Organizations in Universities

Expressive of the grateful thought of college students is their membership in a Christian Science organization in a university or college. Within the walls of The Mother Church is shelter for every pilgrim, from the little child whose budding thought is tenderly nurturing in the Sunday school to those of mature experience.

Mrs. Eddy recognized the special needs of different groups of Christian Scientists, and she accordingly provided for the needs of the campus world, which attracts seekers for knowledge of every race and country. She realized the need of a practical and scientifically Christian religion to guide and support the student through his college years. So, in the provision of the Manual under Article XXIII, Section 8, "Privilege of Members," the door has been opened to the college student to enter into the church and enjoy its gracious hospitality.

Thus does Christian Science, the light of Truth, pierce the clouds of mortal belief, so that the hallowed influence of the true Church shines through and manifests its practicality by lighting the way for the university student, in fulfillment of the Master's words concerning the Christ, Truth, "I am the light of the world."
