I did not take up the study of Christian Science for any physical healing, although I have had many, but because I was searching for a peace which I did not possess. At this time I changed positions and worked with a young lady who was a Christian Scientist. She lovingly invited me to attend a Christian Science lecture and the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, and lent me a copy of our Leader's "Miscellaneous Writings." Shortly after this a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was given me, and I read it every minute I could until I had read it through. I knew that the truth contained in it was what I had been longing for, and that through this truth I could gain the peace "which passeth all understanding."

My first physical healing was of constipation, for which I had resorted to medicine for many years. This healing came through reading the textbook and applying the understanding I had gained through that first reading. Through the understanding that God is the only intelligence of the universe, and that man is the reflection of this infinite intelligence, lost articles have been restored. Before I knew anything of Christian Science there was a tendency to have tonsillitis every winter. I have never had it since beginning the study of Christian Science, and even slight colds are seldom experienced. Warts have disappeared; a sprained ankle and burns were instantaneously healed; inharmony in business relations and worry have been overcome. Some time ago I had an attack of acute indigestion. This was not quickly met; but with the loving help of a practitioner, and through prayer and the sincere study of the healings recorded in the Bible, and also study of Mrs. Eddy's writings, complete freedom from the physical condition, as well as from mental depression, was realized. Because I was forced to work for this realization I gained a clearer understanding that whatever is unlike God, good, has no power, reality, or presence.

I am very thankful for these healings, but far more grateful for the healing and correction of faults of character, and for the truth which makes it possible to overcome all sin and disease and build a better and more loving character. I am grateful for the pure life of Mrs. Eddy, which made it possible for her to receive this revelation; for the consecrated Board of Directors of The Mother Church, and for the practitioners who are lovingly giving their services for humanity's peace and progress.
