Signs of the Times

[Rt. Rev. M. S. Barnwell, Bishop of Idaho, as quoted in the Chronicle, San Francisco, California]

I believe in brotherhood, not as a dream, but as a realizable ideal. Of course, we have not come to it, but he who denies its possibility is a denier of God. The day has already come when no individual can hope to live alone. The day will come when no class, group, or nation will dare to do so. The day will come when the whole world will see that, since we must travel together, we may as well travel in love. We shall come out of our group consciousness and national narrowness to take our place in the family of God, which includes all the peoples of the earth.
