We have special cause for gratitude to Christian Science
We have special cause for gratitude to Christian Science. When our son was about two years of age we noticed that his legs were very crooked, the knees turning in to such a degree that when they touched, his feet were about nine inches apart. His father, not having entire faith in Christian Science healing, insisted on his being examined by a surgeon. The surgeon said he must put on braces from his ankles to his hips; that he must wear them constantly, and they might help a little, but the condition was so serious that in all likelihood he would have to enter a hospital when he was nine years old and have both knees broken, then set straight. As I had confidence in Christian Science and could not bear the thought of the unnecessary discomfort which this would cause, I asked that at least Christian Science be given a fair trial. A practitioner was asked to help, and to our great joy much improvement was soon noticed; and to-day the boy is straight, healthy, and robust.
We have had many other healings in the past ten years, and each has led to a greater realization of the ever-presence of divine Love. We are sure that whenever we allow divine Mind to guide us we experience peace and harmony in all our relationships; and we are endeavoring to let that Mind govern us more fully.
We are very grateful to God, and also to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who by her submission to divine Mind was receptive to the message all mankind was needing, and gave it to us in such a way that it is available here and now. We are also grateful for her loving provision in giving us the Christian Science literature, which always meets our need for inspiration and growth.
