It is eleven years since I first heard of Christian Science
It is eleven years since I first heard of Christian Science. I went to visit a friend whom I had not seen for two years, and when I saw the great change in her, from a chronic sufferer to an active, healthy woman, and was told it was through the regenerating power of Christian Science, there and then I decided to go to the Christian Science service; and there I found joy and loving fellowship expressed, and given out freely to every sin-sick seeker for Truth.
For twelve years I had suffered from rheumatism, and could get no relief from doctors or medicine. My mother assured me that it was hereditary; that she had suffered many years, and so had her father, from the same cause; that it was in my blood, and all I could do was to bear it patiently. I was trying to do this. I also suffered from ulcerated throat and quinsy whenever I caught cold, which was very often; also from influenza. Now I am thankful to say I am able to go through the winter quite free from colds or sore throat or any sign of rheumatism; and I have lost all fear of damp and severe weather affecting me at all, and can enjoy being out of doors in all weather.
The study of Christian Science has given me quite a different outlook on life, and has taught me to rely absolutely on God as the Principle of all good, for health, strength, happiness, and supply. My earnest desire and endeavor is that I may be instrumental in helping others to find this truth as it is so simply taught in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for it is indeed the "pearl of great price."—(Mrs.) Emma Joice Walker, Hornsea, East Yorkshire, England.
