Eighteen years ago I testified in the Christian Science Sentinel to the healing power of Truth. To-day my heart is overflowing with gratitude for the many blessings which have come to me since that time, and I wish to share them with others. Through constant study of the Bible and of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I am gaining a better understanding of God, which meets my daily needs. Lack, catarrh, sick and nervous headaches, influenza, mumps, burns, cuts, weak heart, and other ills too numerous to mention, have yielded to the understanding of perfect God and perfect man made in His image and likeness.

I am learning to rejoice in the face of seeming adversity; for I know that it is not of God, hence not true—that it is but an opportunity to demonstrate the allness of God, good, and the nothingness of evil.

Our hymns have been a great help to me. Some years ago my baby girl came to me complaining of earache. I took her in my arms and began to sing "O gentle presence," one of Mrs. Eddy's hymns (Poems, pp. 4, 5); and in a short time she became quiet and slept, awaking perfectly well. "Shepherd, show me how to go," another of our Leader's beautiful hymns (ibid., p. 14), has helped to overcome disobedience, and did "bind the stubborn will" which tried to hold the child in bondage.
