When Christian Science came into my life, nine years ago, I was in a state of utmost gloom and depression. Although I seemed to have everything to make life pleasant, my outlook was so wrong that as each day came I wondered how I should live through it. Christian Science changed everything as "in the twinkling of an eye." After my first treatment from a practitioner I found myself more joyous and contented; and much physical suffering had left me. Since that time I have been an earnest and faithful student of Christian Science; and although my progress has seemed slow, I am grateful to say I have gained a little each day in the understanding of this wonderful truth. "Trials are proofs of God's care," Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 66), and I rejoice that I have had many opportunities to prove the truth of these words. I have been healed of several physical disorders, such as ptomaine poisoning, grippe, headaches, and a serious skin disease, through the application of Christian Science. I am very grateful for the opportunities that have been given me in the work of a branch church, and also for a happy week spent at the Christian Science Benevolent Association sanatorium. Each day my love and gratitude to Mrs. Eddy grow more profound, and my daily prayer is that I may be shown the path of greater service to my fellow-men, helping them to find the way to peace, health, and happiness.
