I feel that I must express my gratitude to God, and to Christ Jesus, the mediator between God and man, or, as Mrs. Eddy calls him, the Way-shower, because he has shown us the work that could be done through the understanding of God. I am also very grateful to Mrs. Eddy for walking so closely with God that she could give this truth from Him to the world, so that all may understand it and prove it for themselves. I am grateful, too, to the practitioner who was so patient with me, for my thought was so darkened that is seemed as if I myself could never grasp the spiritual import of this blessed truth which has done so much for me.

I will here mention only one of many demonstrations that I have been able to make for myself. When pressing a suit of clothes I did not think the iron was hot, and I put the whole palm of my hand over it. To my surprise it was, however, very hot, and blister appeared all over the palm. I realized the truth, and with a clear understanding of man as God's spiritual idea, in a few minutes all sense of pain was gone. I then took "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and read therein the "scientific statement of being" (p. 468) and other passages, until all sense of soreness was gone. I feel truly grateful for the understanding of how to meet discordant conditions, and my prayer is that my daily life may prove my gratitude for Christian Science.
