With unspeakable gratitude I testify to the healing and redeeming power of Christian Science. I first came to know of Christian Science through a member of my family who was healed of dyspepsia of many years' standing; then I began to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I attended the Christian Science church, and as the truth dawned upon me I stopped the coughing which a doctor had said might be symptomatic of the beginning of consumption, and got well.

It would be impossible to mention all the many healings I have had. I had suffered several times from inflammatory rheumatism in my back and shoulders. Once when I was at home alone suffering from this condition, a friend came in to see me, and I asked her to telephone to a Christian Science practitioner whom I knew; but as the practitioner could not come to see me until eight o'clock, I worked in Science for myself as well as I could. About eight o'clock all pain left me, and I then instructed my friend to tell the practitioner not to come. At another time I had earache, and asked a practitioner to help me. The pain soon stopped, but I was deaf. I was then told that I must work for myself. I started to work as well as I could, and in about two weeks my hearing returned. I was very thankful to the practitioner for telling me to work for myself. One winter influenza asserted itself, but with a practitioner's help I was healed. I am trying to express my gratitude by living the truth in daily life, and to let God's light shine.
