In a recent issue you reported that an evangelist in a public address at Harbor Springs made "a comparison of the Protestant Bible and the Christian Science Bible." Will you allow me to explain to your readers that the only Bible used by Christian Scientists throughout the world is the same Bible that the Protestant churches have used for centuries. In the United States and other English-speaking countries the only Bible used by Christian Scientists is the King James translation, or Authorized Version, of the Scriptures.

From his ignorance of this elementary fact, it is apparent that the evangelist has made no attempt to ascertain at first hand what the teaching of Christian Science actually is, or how it is studied and applied. At Harbor Springs and Petoskey there are scores of Christian Scientists—and most of them were formerly members of other Protestant denominations—who are glad to acknowledge that since they became Christian Scientists they have studied the Bible more faithfully and more profitably than they ever did before. They will also acknowledge that "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which they study daily with the Bible, throws a light of understanding upon the Scriptures which has enabled them to begin in a humble way to follow the command of Christ Jesus to heal sin, sickness, and sorrow by spiritual means, as he did.

Is it not about time for professed Christians of whatever sect or persuasion to cease attacking and condemning the religious beliefs of their fellow-men?
