L'Oeuvre
A few words to supplement the account of the Wednesday evening meeting for testimonies of healing at 58, Boulevard Flandrin, will not be out of place. In a humorous manner, although not very correctly as to details, a writer describes one of these meetings, in which, after readings have been given from the Bible and the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, those who have received benefits from Christian Science recount these blessings, in order to prove their gratitude and also to encourage those who come to the meetings in search of help for their troubles, whether physical or mental. One must know something of Christian Science to understand the spirit of it, and how sweet it is to have the assurance of an all-loving God, who heals our diseases and destroys our iniquities. Christian Science is liable to be treated humorously because it is incomprehensible to material sense; but, after all, it is better to do this than to condemn it without knowing anything about it.
