[Written for the Sentinel]

Truth

Seek the priceless vision, hold it in thy heart,
When thou once hast seen it, let it not depart;

Though the clouds may gather, Truth they cannot hide;
Christ the light hath brought us, in it we abide.

Though, to mortal seeming, error's power be strong,
Truth's emancipation freeth from all wrong,

With its light dispelling fears of pain and sin;
We, God's image bearing, keep that light within:

Keep that wondrous radiance, shedding it afar—
Knowing—never doubting—we His children are—

Heirs of His own glory, majesty, and might,
Guided by His presence, walking in the light.
