[Written for the Sentinel]

Lord, I Approach Thee

"And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."—Jeremiah 29:13.

Lord, I approach Thee with praise and thanksgiving,
For I have found Thee whom I sought with tears.
Thou art near me:
Thou art my protection.
Thistles and thorns cannot harm me.
In the vale of darkness Thou art my light.
Thou leadest me; Thou art my help.
Thou showest me the depths of eternal Truth,
And leadest me to the heights of knowledge.
Thou fillest my heart with love. What I do, I accomplish
Through Thy strength: Thou art Life.
What I think, I draw from the well of Thy wisdom:
Thou art sole intelligence.
What I give, I receive from the plenty of Thy grace:
Thou art Love.
My heart is full of joy and gladness:
Thou hast let me find Thee.
