In the spring of 1924 I had an attack of pneumonia so severe that I was in a semiconscious condition; in fact, I believed I was passing on when my son called a dear practitioner, who lovingly responded to the call and started to treat me. In half an hour I was sitting up in bed talking, and even laughing. In three or four days I was up and around. I should like to say that I was also healed with the help of a practitioner of stomach trouble of thirty-five years' standing, as well as of cramp in the legs.
For these physical healings I am indeed grateful; but I am far more grateful for the spiritual understanding gained through Christian Science. Words are inadequate to express fully my gratitude to God and our revered Leader, and to the loving practitioner and friends who have helped me to acquire the little understanding I have—indeed for everything that Christian Science has done and is doing for me and mine.
