In January, 1917, Christian Science was presented to me. At that time I had been suffering for about ten years from severe forms of stomach trouble, consumption of the lungs, constipation, neurasthenia, catarrh, and I could not walk for more than two blocks at a time. I had tried the physicians of greatest repute, but in vain! Consequently, when I heard that Christian Science heals I accepted it with joy. Neither did I doubt that God, who is the Great Physician, can heal the most stubborn disease. I accepted Christian Science without any doubt, like a little child, and was healed instantaneously.

My father passed on from lung trouble. But I have learned that my real Father is God, and that I inherit from Him health, life, love, truth, joy, meekness, humbleness—all good. A Christian Science practitioner treated me. After the treatment I said to her that I was going to try to walk home. I left her office with joy in my heart to think that I could walk again! I walked block after block. Finally I reached my destination, after a walk of fourteen blocks. Not only was I not exhausted, but I was not even tired! Oh, how happy I felt; I was as if newborn in a new world!

The next step for me to take was to stop dieting. So when I came to the restaurant for my next dinner I ate what I used to believe was the hardest to digest. When I finished eating, I felt better than when on a diet. This ended my dieting.
