Christian Science was presented to me by a dear friend, and at her invitation I attended the church services. I was curious to learn what Christian Science had to offer. From girlhood I had passed through experiences that had caused me much unhappiness, and I had begun to question, Is there a God? This question has been answered in Christian Science; for now I know Him to be divine Love, who sends only good to His children. The testimonies given at the Wednesday evening meetings, and those I read in the Christian Science periodicals, aroused in me the hope that if others had been helped my problems could be worked out also.

I became a student of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy, and spent hours each day reading, studying, and striving to put into practice the truths that I grasped. Gradually discord yielded to a better sense of harmony, and financial lack was being destroyed. This was a proof to me that because I had recognized the higher law of God, it was operating in my behalf. Instead of walking in the wilderness of doubt and despair, I was lifted to a sense of security and peace and realized in a measure the truth of Isaiah's words, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

How grateful I am that I have been awakened somewhat from this dream of materiality! Problems continue to present themselves, but I am not dismayed; for I know now that the solving of each of them is possible. As the Apostle Paul said, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I am enjoying better health as the result of this study; and in our home there have been physical healings, of sore throat, sprained ankle, hemorrhoids, ptomaine poisoning, influenza, lumbago, valvular heart disease, inflammatory rheumatism, and constipation. The help of loving practitioners seemed necessary in some of these cases; in the others, my own understanding of the truth brought about the healing.
