About seven years ago I was advised to study Christian Science to learn of the healing power of God, on account of a case of sickness in my family. I have studied the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, daily since that time, and have often experienced God's help as ever present and available.

About five years ago, when I was in a commercial line of business, I suffered a nervous breakdown, as a result of which, on the advice of the physician consulted, I was obliged to stay away from business for some time. The physician was called because I had to comply with the law. I did not take the medicine he prescribed or follow his emphatic recommendation to go to a health resort for nervous troubles, but sought my healing in my home with God; for I said to myself, and realized, that God alone is our strength and help. I felt my healing progressing daily, and in about two weeks was perfectly well

It seemed, however, that I had not completely overcome the material thoughts, but had been remembering the first attack; for, about two years later, I suddenly had such a severe relapse that I was unconscious for about an hour and a half, and had to be taken home from business in an ambulance. The physician, who feared the worst, besides prescribing medicine advised me to give up work for at least a few months. Then I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment, which was given at once. I diligently studied the textbook and declared to myself, "God alone is our strength; God is Love and Life, and since man is God's reflection, there can be no breaking down." I endeavored always to hold fast to the right thoughts which the textbook revealed to me. I saw the light, and with it came victory; and after a comparatively short time I felt the effect, for I was well.
