An Important Pamphlet
We wish to call the attention of all Christian Scientists to the desirability of giving the pamphlet entitled "Permanency of The Mother Church," published by The Christian Science Publishing Society, a larger circulation than it has yet received. The purpose of this pamphlet is to help annul the aggressive and misleading assertions and suggestions now being disseminated deceptively and persistently, which are intended to displace Mrs. Eddy in her relation to Christian Science and to destroy an essential part of her work. The circulation of such a pamphlet should be adapted to, and commensurate with, its purpose. All Christian Scientists should be acquainted with its contents, as should a good many other people also whose thought would be protected from the above-mentioned error by knowing that The Mother Church is carried on in accordance with Mrs. Eddy's intention. The following from Mrs. Eddy's pen is relevant (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 130): "The spirit of Truth is the lever which elevates mankind. I have neither the time nor the inclination to be continually pursuing a lie—the one evil or the evil one. Therefore I ask the help of others in this matter, and I ask that according to the Scriptures my students reprove, rebuke, and exhort. A lie left to itself is not so soon destroyed as it is with the help of truth-telling."
For the foregoing reasons, all Christian Scientists who have not yet read the pamphlet "Permanency of The Mother Church" are asked to read it. Any member of our denomination can get a free copy by writing for it to The Christian Science Publishing Society. In the same way, literature distribution committees can get free copies, to be handed or sent to people who are not Christian Scientists but who might be glad to have the information in this pamphlet. The Publishing Society will also send free copies to editors and publishers whose names and addresses are furnished by Committees on Publication.
