A few years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention

A few years ago Christian Science was brought to my attention. Although I was very much opposed to what I thought Christian Science to be, I called to see a practitioner merely to comply with the request that had been made by one very dear to me. To my great surprise and joy, I found that Christian Science was the very antipode of what I had been led to believe regarding its teaching.

On page 1 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy tells us: "Thoughts unspoken are not unknown to the divine Mind. Desire is prayer; and no loss can occur from trusting God with our desires, that they may be moulded and exalted before they take form in words and in deeds." These inspiring words were the cause of an instantaneous healing of the tobacco habit and the habit of using profane language, both of which had had a very strong hold on me for about fifteen years. I had tried on several occasions to overcome these undesirable habits through the use of will-power, but without success.

These and many other healings are cause for deep gratitude, and I am grateful for them; but that for which I am most grateful is the change that has taken place within. The Apostle Paul said, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind." Christian Science has given me the moral courage to take my stand for Christ, Truth. My sincere desire is to prove by my daily living that I am grateful to God, to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy.
