Undisturbed

On page 306 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says, "Undisturbed amid the jarring testimony of the material senses, Science, still enthroned, is unfolding to mortals the immutable, harmonious, divine Principle,—is unfolding Life and the universe, ever present and eternal."

One's first thought after being piloted to the rock of Christian Science through the ministration of Truth-healing, is often one of calm satisfaction that at last there has been found an anchorage free from the friction and interference of the outside world. But one is somewhat disturbed to find that after the first uplifting is over he has still to reckon with the same waves and tempests, the only difference being that now he has a better sense of God's presence and protection. Right there he is called upon to meet the "jarring testimony of the material senses," the ebbing and flowing of mortal thought, the tempests of mortal passions. He finds that he has to know that his anchor is strong, and will hold. In fact, he has to be very sure that he is anchored to the Rock, Truth—that Rock of which our dear Leader says (Poems, p. 12) in "Christ my Refuge":
