Signs of the Times

[From the Evening Post, Bridgeport, Connecticut]

Twenty-five children in one of the classes of the weekday church schools conducted by the Bridgeport Council of Churches, have drawn up a set of rules for the ideal city and for a happy home. From among the many suggestions offered by various members of the class, the following have been chosen as six watchwords of a happy home: Helpfulness, cheerfulness, peacefulness, generosity, thoughtfulness, and prayerfulness. An ideal city, the children have decided, will contain citizens who observe the following rules:

1. I will sacrifice myself to help make my city better.
