It is with a heart full of gratitude that I add my testimony...
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I add my testimony to that of the ever increasing list of grateful persons who voice their thanks from week to week and from month to month in our periodicals and testimony meetings. One can but feel very happy to know that what is set forth there is and can be made practical in everyone's life.
I have been in Christian Science for about fifteen years, and came to it after materia medica had failed to do anything more for me. The doctors said I had stomach and lung trouble; and I had lost thirty pounds in a month. There was also a general rundown condition bordering on a complete breakdown. The first I heard of Christian Science was when I received some literature through the mail; but whence it came I have never been able to find out. I saw at once that Christian Science was what I had been looking for, and immediately gave up doctors and threw their medicines away. During these fifteen years Christian Science has been my only physician. I am like a new man, and have not missed a day from business aside from the regulation week or two of vacation. I am so grateful for the Christian Science literature; and I continually pass on the periodicals to others, knowing what their teachings did for me. I deem it a great privilege to be a member of The Mother Church and of a loyal branch church. It is also my privilege to assist in some of the activities of this blanch church. One never knows how much Christian Science can do, until it is his privilege to serve and give, however small may seem the part.
I will not say that I have been entirely free from all error these fifteen years; but when error has tried to creep in, every problem has been thoroughly and quickly met either through my own understanding of diving Principle or by recourse to that ever willing, faithful, and loyal group of Christian Science practitioners.
